On 6L80 & 6L90 Transmissions the Top Port is the Outlet & Bottom Port is the Return.On 8L90E Transmissions the Front Port is the Outlet & the Rear Port is the Return.This adapter can also be used on the GM 8L45E transmission, but you will need a slightly shorter mounting bolt (about 3/16″ shorter).
